Hucklebaum, also known as Sir Hucklebaum, Lord of the House of Twig, Slayer of the Obnoxiously Persistent Dandelion is a character in Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake.

In Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake

Prior to the events of the game, Hucklebaum was born as the protector of the Heartroot, along with six other plant-like monsters, known as Budlings. At some point, they encountered  The Professor and chased him away from the Heartroot, although he observed them from a safe distance anyways. The Budlings then disappeared at one point, all but Hucklebaum, who was left to protect the tree by himself.

Hucklebaum first meets Niko by accusing him of being a Boogin and almost slaying him where he stands. He then apologizes after seeing that Niko isn't a Boogin after all, and then explains to the young boy that he is the last protector of the Heartroot Tree and that she needs something to combat her fight with a danger from the east. Hucklebaum then asks Niko to retrieve some effervescent dew and bring it back to him, and in return handsomely reward Niko with stuff. Some very rewardy stuff.

Hucklebaum later joins Niko in his journey to help him get his cake from the Boogins.

In the Biblio Monstrum

A member of the Budling species, Hucklebaum is an emissary of the Heartroot, an ancient being deep from within Gogapoe forest. He has chosen to leave the safety of the treetops to quell the threat rising from the Deadlands. Hucklebaum has a natural connection with plant life and can interact with Stabweed and Mushrooms.

Physical Appearance

Hucklebaum is a plant monster-- which unsurprisingly explains his overall plant-like appearance. He has leaf-green fur all over his body, and two fangs that protrude from his lower lip. He has two black eyes, and small brown wooden antlers on his head, with two leaves coming out of one of them.
